P4P works to ensure strong Public Private Partnerships, specially on the municipal level.
To empower municipalities across Lebanon, especially Kesserwan by encouraging public-private partnerships, providing technical assistance, and enhancing legal and technical capacities. We aim to promote sustainable development, and improve the quality of life for communities through strategic support, educational initiatives, and active participation in local and international forums.
P4P (Platform for Progress) was established in 2020 in response to the severe financial crisis and the escalating need to support municipalities across Lebanon. The onset of the pandemic in 2019, coupled with an economic downturn and a complete governmental blockade, placed an overwhelming burden on local municipalities, significantly affecting their ability to serve their communities effectively.
Recognizing the urgent need for an alternative solution to alleviate this burden, a dedicated group of local leaders and community advocates came together to form P4P. Our initial focus was on the Kesserwan area, where the impact was particularly pronounced. Through strategic planning, resource mobilization, and community engagement, P4P began as a grassroots initiative with a vision to extend our support and services nationwide.
Our commitment to fostering sustainable development, enhancing public services, and empowering local governments has been the driving force behind our efforts. As we continue to grow and expand our reach, P4P remains dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of Lebanese citizens by providing the necessary tools, resources, and support to municipalities.
Mainly at the cities, regions and local levels.
Including cities, villages, towns and specialists, in their actions in partnership with the private sector by legal and technical documents and undertaking market studies necessary for projects' evaluation and implementation.
Such as educational workshops, courses, and printing reports, guidelines and brochures in all sectors relevant to implement public-private partnerships at local authorities level (including cities, villages, towns and specialists). Helping the private sector to cope with the work of the public sector and vice versa.
Preparing awareness sessions to assist municipalities and municipal unions to develop their financial capacity and to implement partnership projects with the private sector.
Participation in the local and international seminars, workshops and conferences which are concerned with the subject matter.
To become a national organization in Lebanon that bridges the gap between local municipalities and the private sector. We envision a collaborative and resilient environment where municipalities are equipped with the knowledge, resources, and partnerships needed to thrive and contribute to the nation's progress.
